Place the battery in the charger until the green indicator goes solid then just before the red and green lights start blinking remove the battery from the battery charger.

It can charge a 2.0 ah battery in 30 minutes, a 5.0 ah battery in 50 minutes, 6.0 in 60 minutes and a 7.5 ah battery in 75 minutes making it around 10 minutes per amp hour as DrewBHAM mentioned. I assumed it could charge a 4.0 ah battery in 60 minutes however it does better than that at 40 minutes. However the good news is that HD added a new picture listing charge times and a big thanks to DrewBHAM for spotting, we now know how fast this bad boy can charge.Īccording to the above picture, we now see that this rapid charger is faster than I had originally thought. Only had a general marketing statement saying that “On average, this charger charges 40V batteries in 1-hour or less”. This 4.0 Ah battery gets 2X more runtime than the RYOBI 40V 2.0 Ah Compact Battery while delivering the same fade-free power and performance. When this charger was first spotted, the Ryobi 40V Rapid Charger OP406A listing didn’t have any actual specific battery charge time numbers. The most common cause for your Ryobi 40V Charger showing flashing red and green lights is that the battery has been over-discharged. This is great news as Ryobi’s 40V batteries can take several hours to charge using current chargers. While the grass looks dry, as you start to mow it chops up into super wet clumps.A new Ryobi 40V Rapid Charger OP406A has been spotted. On the other hand we have had high humidity lately. When I pulled the battery out of the mower it was warm but no hotter than after the last time I mowed. My guess is either the battery is hot or moisture detection. Spend less time charging batteries and more time getting yard work done. The indicator lights provide the battery charging status and even lets you know if the battery is too hot or too cold to charge.

Compatible with all RYOBI Lithium-Ion 40V batteries.

Does anyone know what the 2 outer green lights flashing means? The RYOBI 40V Lithium Fast Charger charges all lithium-ion batteries faster than the standard charger.

I checked the battery and mower manuals and online, but can't find any indication of error flashes for the battery other than on the charger. Battery test showed to be at about 50% and placing on charger it sat on orange testing light. The headlight wouldn't even come on with the safety grip down and I couldn't get the battery error flash to repeat. Battery and key were loaded back in and I confirmed the handle was locked in. It would not restart even after removing battery and key, wiping out underside, confirmed blade still spun and not stuck. A little less than halfway through the mower stopped and the battery flashed the 2 outer green lights.
